Creating an ERC 1155 dRYFT Collection

Your guide to the creation of ERC 1155 dRYFTs

Step 1: Enter the RYFT app at https://app.entertheryft.com/arrow-up-right

Step 2: When you open the RYFT app, you’ll land on the main portal. This is your starting point for everything.

Note: All platform data is available in real time without requiring a wallet connection. We believe forced connections create unnecessary friction, so you can explore freely and choose to connect only when you're ready to initiate blockchain transactions.

Step 3: Click on the dRYFT Builder

This will take you to the dRYFT builder page, you can also click on the top of the menu bar

Step 4: Next, you’ll navigate to the dRYFT Builder section within the RYFT app.

Notice: that if you're creating an ERC 1155 dRYFT NFT Contract that you will land directly on that builder page.

This is where your dRYFT creation journey begins. While the interface may appear simple, this protocol unlocks a wide range of powerful possibilities, enabling you to embed meaning, utility, and layered value into every asset you create.

Step 5: Select Collection Image

Here you’ll upload the JPEG or GIF that represents your collection. We recommend using the same image as your NFT—this keeps things simple and consistent.

💡 Bonus: If you're unfamiliar with how to create metadata, this image can also serve as the default for your metadata URI. Our backend AI will automatically generate traits and metadata custom to this image. (More on that in Step 11 of the creation process.)

📐 Recommended size: At least 1000 x 1000 pixels (This is also noted in the dApp for easy reference.)

Step 6: Select the blockchain network where you’d like to deploy your dRYFT.

Sepolia and BaseSepolia are for testing purposes. Do NOT deploy to those test nets unless testing a dRYFT collection deployment. This system will also be used by AI Agents to test game theories of composability among other things.

We currently do not have the Layer Zero OFP contracts available. Which means you need to choose the chain that the token or tokens your wrapping into the dRYFT are currently deployed on. For example, if your token exists on Base, select the Base network from the dropdown menu. If your token is available on multiple supported chains, you may choose any of the networks where RYFT is currently live.

Step 7: Next, enter the name of your NFT collection. This name will appear on the smart contract and serve as the primary identifier for your collection on NFT marketplaces. Please note: the name is limited to a maximum of 50 characters.

NFT Collection Name

Step 8: Now, enter a description for your dRYFT NFT collection in the designated field. At this time, custom profile pages for adding social links are not yet available, so we recommend including any relevant links (e.g., Twitter, Discord, website) directly in the description. This can be updated later once collection profile features are live.

Description

Custom collection pages are currently available to featured projects. To begin the process of becoming a featured project, please contact the RYFT team directly.

Step 9: Enter the size of your collection. This determines how many dRYFTs (Hybrid NFTs) you want to generate for this deployment.

To decide on the right number, consider the total value of tokens you’d like to wrap across the collection. For example, if you want each mint to contain approximately $10 worth of tokens and aim to wrap $50,000 in total value, you would create 5,000 dRYFTs.

There is no required minimum or maximum—you can create a single dRYFT to facilitate an OTC token position, or thousands to launch a large-scale collection. The flexibility is yours.

Max. Number of dRYFTs (NFTs)
circle-info

Make sure to put the full number in. Do NOT use 5k. Input 5,000 into the box to have 5,000 dRYFT Hybrid NFTs available. Or 100 numerical like so.

Step 10: Next, enter the wrapper fee recipient address. This must be a wallet compatible with the blockchain you're deploying your collection on.

By default, the connected wallet will be pre-filled, but you can update it to any preferred address. This wallet will receive any fees you choose to apply (e.g., taxes on minting). If you opt for a free mint, the field is still required, as it may be used for additional value layers in future updates.

Wrapper Fee Recipient

Step 11: Enter your Custom URI, which links to the metadata and media assets for your NFT collection. This is a key step in NFT creation.

If you're already familiar with NFT metadata and URIs that point to on-chain or IPFS-hosted assets, you’ll know what to input here by clicking on the dot below to make this field open.

If you're unsure how to create or manage metadata for your NFT collection, we've got you covered.

With our new default setting, the image you upload will automatically generate custom metadata and traits using our backend AI system. Just leave the metadata URI field on default and let the system handle the rest.

This means anyone, regardless of technical skill—can now create and craft dRYFT Hybrid NFTs effortlessly.

Step 12: This is where you select the token—or tokens—you’d like to wrap into your dRYFTs.

Keep in mind that this is not based on USD value (e.g., USDC), but rather on the actual token units.

  1. Enter the correct contract address of the token in the “Token Address” field.

  2. Specify the number of tokens per mint in the next field. This defines how many units of the token will be wrapped into each dRYFT.

For example, if you want each dRYFT to contain 1,000 tokens currently valued at $10 total, you would enter 1,000 in the “Tokens per dRYFT” box.

Our protocol also supports multiple tokens within a single contract, allowing for more dynamic and composable asset configurations. The cost is $1.00 extra in the native of the chain to add more to the whole contract. At the moment we have not made this infinite tokens, if you need higher than 7 tokens in a dRFYT, please contact the RYFT team.

Wrapping Tokens Section
circle-info

It’s essential that your community understands they are not purchasing NFTs in the traditional sense. Instead, they are wrapping tokens into NFTs, tokens that remain inside the NFT and can be retrieved or traded at any time.

The value of the original asset is preserved unless a fee (or tax) is applied during the wrapping or unwrapping process. This represents a new concept of “minting,” where the NFT acts as a container for real token value, not just a collectible.

Step 13: Decide whether you’d like to apply a tax to the tokens being wrapped into or unwrapped from the dRYFT NFT. These taxes can be used to generate revenue, encourage holding, and help manage token supply.

  • The tax values are percentage-based. For example, entering 1 applies a 1% tax on that action.

  • Entering 0 in both fields creates a “free mint”, meaning users can mint and redeem without any fees applied.

We believe this new model of free mints backed by real token value has the potential to spark the next major shift in NFT culture.

Wrap Tax Section

The Wrap & Unwrap Tax will go to the wallet you provided for the Wrapper Fee Recipient on transactions.

Step 14: Applying a Native Fee

We've added a new feature: Native Chain Fees—currently live on Base, with support for other chains coming soon.

This allows creators to apply fees in the native token of the chain (e.g. ETH) during either the wrap or unwrap process of a dRYFT Hybrid NFT. Unlike traditional NFT mints, these native fees continue collecting even after the collection wraps out, creating a powerful, dynamic revenue channel.

It’s a new way to monetize your NFT drops natively onchain and ongoing.

To unlock this feature, a small ETH fee is required. After the $RYFT TGE, this will shift to using $RYFT tokens to unlock.

We’ll keep expanding customization options based on your feedback.

circle-info

Important: Be sure to enter your desired fee with the correct decimal placement. For example:

  • For 0.01 ETH, input 0.01

  • For 0.001 ETH, input 0.001

Incorrect decimal input may result in unintended fee amounts, so double-check before deploying.

Step 15: Final Review Before Deployment

Please double-check that all entered information is accurate. Once the contract is deployed, its parameters cannot be changed for now. The collection will be publicly visible on our platform, where anyone can begin wrapping into it.

dRYFTs are currently hosted exclusively on the RYFT platform. At this time, wrapping and unwrapping functionality is only available through our interface. NFT marketplaces support trading but not direct interaction with dRYFT mechanics.

Once you’ve confirmed everything is correct, check the Contract Agreement box to proceed. The deployment fee is $5.00 in the native token of the selected chain (e.g., $ETH on Base, $POL on Polygon, etc.).

You can deploy a contract with any number of dRYFTs, whether it’s 1 or over 100,000.

The Create dRYFT Collection turns Green if all fields have been entered correctly.
circle-info

The option to deploy will only be available if you entered all the fields for the creation of a dRYFT collection correctly.

Step 16: Deploying Your dRYFT Collection

Before proceeding, ensure your wallet is connected to the dApp and set to the correct blockchain network.

When you click “Create dRYFT Collection,” you’ll be prompted to sign two transactions in your wallet:

  1. Authorization – Confirms permission to deploy the contract.

  2. Payment – Covers the $5.00 deployment fee in the native token of the selected chain.

Once both transactions are confirmed, your collection will appear on the platform (as shown in the example below).

The collection page on RYFT

This collection page contains all the key details, including the public link of the url in your browser bar your community will use to wrap tokens into your dRYFTs. This link is essential for sharing across social channels and activating your community. Learn more in the Collection Page breakdown here: Wrapping dRYFTs

circle-info

You can wrap up to 10 dRYFT Hybrid NFTs at a time.

Please note that in our MVP version, whitelisting is not yet supported. As the creator, if you wish to pre-wrap any NFTs before sharing your collection, you’ll need to do so manually.

Once your collection is deployed, it will appear under New Collections on the platform. This means other users (dRYFTers) may begin wrapping into your collection immediately, so plan accordingly before distributing the link publicly.

Step 17: Congratulations! You’re Now Officially a dRYFTer!

Your collection is live. Share your collection link with your community and prepare to start wrapping, this is just the beginning.

If you’ve set a wrap or unwrap tax, you’ll begin earning fees based on the percentages you configured. Once someone unwraps, it creates an open slot for another user to wrap in. This dynamic cycle is just a part of dRYFTing that makes an engaging and evolving experience.

Welcome to the next generation of crafting value, culture, engagement and utility from tokens!
